On June 28, 2011, the Moms Club of Hermosa Beach presented Hermosa Beach Friends of the Park with a $1000.00 donation to South Park, Hermosa Beach, specifically to clean the sand in the toddler area.  The Mom's Club and Friends of the Park have a longstanding relationship in partnering together to raise funds to improve parks within Hermosa Beach.  The South Park sand replacement is the first step in the South Park refurbishment which also includes replacing the concrete hockey rink with a universally accessible playground.
